Mexican food is killing me. I have to be honest, the food I got in Acapulco was awful and utter awful.
But that is the downside, Acapulco has so many positive sides. They just don`t know it.
The most asked question I got while staying in this beautiful city was; "Why did you come to here?"
"When you can go anywhere else?" A bit surprising. Normally the infants praise their hometown, telling you all the good sides and maybe some white lies. Not the people in Acapulco.
Inferiority complex. The other are better than us. Cancun is better than us. The time when Acapulco was the stage for the biggest stars in the universe, like Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra is gone. And even forgotten. I was hoping that reminding of the "glory times" would inject some kind of vitamines in our conversation. But no, nothing.
Acapulcos economy is bad, and has been bad for a long time. Powerty is high and don`t seem to improve. The people in Acapulco reminded me of the Cubans. Indifferent attitiude and sadly they look a bit lost.
Mexican people are maybe the nicest people I have ever met. So relaxed. So easygoing. No fakes as far as i feel. Funny. Alive. To make a whole people in general is stupid of course. BUT i never felt so relaxed alone, surrounded by a people
